Retired Mailman Married 3Still living in Maumee and spending as much time as I can on the golf course. My greatest joy is watching sports with my three grandsons.
December 07, 1950 Tool & Die Maker Married 4If I didn't thank a committee member personally, I want to thank you now for a Great
Job! for all you did on our 40th reunion.
I really enjoyed the the golf, but after seeing pictures of the school open house, I think I missed something pretty neat, Wish I would of had more time.
To me, this event always gives me the feeling of lucky, to grow up in a great community, as I think about then and now, and the time period in my life, as I reminisce all the good friends and moments I had in those days.
Even though I only went to Maumee HS for 2 years, ( Penta 2 Yrs.) I always enjoy seeing the friends I grew up with in Maumee, from either around the neighborhood, during summer sports, or my other classmate from St. Joe's grade school.
Restored and future memories is the reason that I've been to all the class of 69 reunions.
It's always a great feeling to see and share many memories of those days with your classmates when we were so young and our imaginations seemed to have no end in that time of our lives.
Thanks again, classmates and reunion organizers!
After MHS I decided to go into the trades at the time, and got into a tool & die apprenticeship. So I've been involved in tooling design, building, and all manufacturing as my main support for 40 yrs
I hope I can retire in a couple of years from my real job, it's starting to take a toll on my joints, I've had both of my knees replaced.
I met my wife Cindy (Sattler) from Perrysburg (Mcauley high school) through her brother who was a classmate of mine at Penta.
We've been happily married for 37 yrs., and have lived in Waterville almost as long.
We started our family in 74 with our son Jeffrey, and continued in 76 with Stephanie, then in 78 with Lori, and finished in 80 with Nicholas.
We've successfully raised and got them all somehow through college.
All 4 of them are happily (I think) married.
2 of our children have given us 2 great grandsons, our oldest son who lives out in Denver, that gives us reason to travel out there, and our youngest daughter who lives in Toledo, thank God.
My wife still runs the ice cream store (Sweet Retreat) in Waterville, and one of my titles is janitorial technician, because I do the mopping every night at closing.
The store has done good for us, but it"s a lot of work, and your summers are limited to where you can go.
Looking forward to the next reunion, hopefully it will be sooner.

Still living in the area off Heatherdowns just into Toledo. Graduated from UT in business and went on for my masters in Human Resources. I have been working at Xunlight Corp for 4 years having finally gotten off the current fast ride to poverty in the auto industry. I was an adjunct professor at UT for 9 years but was cut with most of the part timers in late 2009 due to the economy. , 3 grown daughters - Jennifer is a CPA for Scripps, married and living in Cincinnati with 18 month old adorabel twins Charlotte and Cooper, Jillian is a Maumee police officer (recently got off the road and is now the D.A. R.E. officer for a few years ) and has 2 boys Ethan 10 and Tyler 8. Jayme is married and travels the world literally as an internal auditor for Pilkington. Jill and Jayme live in P-burg. I have been blessed with good health, the ability to find a job every time I was downsized in auto and the intelligence to realize that being in the solar industry now is hopefully the place to stay. I sincerely enjoyed the reunion and seeing everyone who attended. A hearty thank you to the organizers. I would love to keep in touch with former classmates and get together on occasion with those who are local.

September 24, 1951 Married 2After high school I spent the next four years at Kent State Univ. May of '73 I received a BS in Elem Ed. In Aug of '73 I married my high school sweetheart David Vogelpohl (Rogers H.S. '68) We moved to Swanton where we had our 2 children Tiffani Leigh (now age 31) and Peter Justin (30). 6 months later we were transferred to Northport, Long Island, N.y. There I directed a School-age Childcare program. In 1995 we were transferred to Atlanta, Ga. I arrived in time to become a volunteer for the '96 Summer Olympics. Did a few odd jobs but found I'm much more suited to leisure; tennis, golf, reading, boating, many activites with our church, and the greatest is babysitting our granddaughters. Since David retired from UPS, after 32 years; we've bought property on Lake Lanier, NE of Atlanta, and David and Peter built a home that I designed. Life is great!!!

September 02, 1951 CPA Married 3I graduated Wittenberg University in 1973 and went to work for IRS (Yikes). Attended Cleveland State University for grad school and then moved onto Cooper and Lybrand (Now PriceWaterhouse Coopers). I moved to Colorado for 14 years with my first husband, who was a classmate too. Colorado is beautiful and I still go back often! What a great state! I later recoonnected with my old college sweetheart (Tom McGinnis) who swept me off my feet and moved the kids and me to NJ. Since then, I've had my own CPA practice with offices in NJ and Steamboat Springs, CO. I love horseback riding, skiing, reading and my family. I volunteer for the town Ambulance Corps as an EMT which keeps me extremely busy. My youngest (Chris Rapparlie) is at Gettysburg College and pledged Alpha Chi Rho. He LOVES it there. Maybe just a little too much! My oldest (Leslie Rapparlie) is 29, teaching college full-time at Montclair State University. She just completed her MFA in December 2010. She recently published a book on Experiential Learning and like most kids today has her own website. Visit it at ww.leslierapparlie.com to read her published short stories. Our middle child is Ashley McGinnis, She is 28 and works in product development for Redkin, a divison of Lorea,l in New York City. My newest career is to teach driving to 16yr olds. Who said I'm not crazy???!!! It's fun and keeps me connected to the younger set. My husband sold his business this January so we are trying to think of places to spend the rest of our lives! We plan a move to Lake Norman in North Carolina and to spend simmers in Steamboat
Springs, CO. We are so looking forward to retirement!

After high school, I graduated from Miami U, then moved to NYC, got a master's from NYU's film school, and worked in New York for the next 18 years. My husband Attila and I have been married for 20 years, and have two children - a daughter Laura (19), a sophomore in college and a son Nick (17), a senior in high school. We lived in Attila's hometown, Budapest, Hungary from 1992 to 1996, where he was resident manager of the Budapest Hilton, before settling in our present home just outside Washington, DC. I've worked for World Wildlife Fund for 10 years traveling to lots of places WWF does conservation work - Antarctica, Africa, Latin America, Alaska, and most recently India. I love it.
