March 27, 1951 Architecture Cad Tech & Fine Artist hahncadtech.com Single Again 1

Hello Everyone,

What is going on in your life?

At 62 I graduated with an Associates degree in Architectural Engineering/Drafting from our local Community College here in Albuquerque. Yea... I finally did it, got some kind of college degree. I have found work that allows me to work from home using AutoCad. I also picked up an unusual job that I can work from home. I work for a company that registers aircraft. We process "N" registrations for the FAA. I have been with them 2 years. It is an interesting job and both jobs are easy for me to do in my old age and in my pajamas. I am retired from working in a typical 9-5 office job, so I have been told by the number of resume rejections I have received.

I have two pomeranian mix dogs, a male room-mate that I have lived with for 7 years and he also has a dog, blue-heeler. My room-mate and I are sort of a family, but I am not married to him.

My daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter are all fine and I am thankful for them. My granddaughter, Genna, is attending Toni & Guy Beauty Academy. It is the best part of my life so far to have my granddaughter do my hair. I have been going to her beauty school about every other week to have her practice on me.

My brother Ronald also lives in Albuquerque, he is a wonderful person who helps me take care of my car, invites me to every family event, remembers my birthday, and tells me he loves me every chance he gets, he is a great man.

Recently had to down-size. My advice to you... start sorting through your decades worth of collecting and keeping stuff today.

Read everyone's work status. Retired, Retired, Retired. Did you think it possible that one day we would all be retired?

Thinking about going to the 50 yr reunion, have not made up my mind yet.

By for now.

Best Regards,
Susan

Outside of college and a short stint working after my undergraduate degree in St. Louis, I've lived in Ohio, the past 32 years, the last 11 in Westerville.  I got my PhD in Computer Science from OSU and after a couple of jobs working in industry and adjuncting for several universities, I went fulltime at Franklin University in Columbus, where I chair the Web Development program.  I am married to a special education teacher and have two children. The oldest graduated from Ashland in May.  The younger is trying to figure out what to do, a common thing it seems in these days without the draft to keep one focused on a career as we were. May 30, 1951 Rexam - Accounting Married 2
I have been married to my hubby, Joe (Lake graduate), for 34 years -- met him at work (O-I)  Our son, Clay, graduated from The Ohio State University in 2007, majoring in Welding Engineering.  He left his engineering job to start up his own company, www.guidance-marketing.com .  He is married and currently lives in Kansas City, MO, but is planning to get back to Michigan, where his wife, Abbey, is from.  Daughter, Cory, is currently a student at the University of Cincinnati, then onto grad school, majoring in Physical Therapy.  My favorite pasttimes are working out (hope to see  you locals at Urban Active), spending time with my children (hopefully someday grandchildren), and vacationing at Maranatha on Lake Michigan.  Some of you have tasted the goodness of retirment; I'm hoping to get some of that goodness by age 62 - yikes that sounds old! I am still happily married to my great husband of 38 years, Bob.  We have two children, son Chris (Jaime) who teaches special education in Milan, Michigan and daughter Melissa works in the office at Pump Engineering in Monroe, Michigan.  Melissa has given us two fantastic granddaughters, Katelyn and Kara.
I retired  three years ago from Toledo Public Schools (DeVeaux Jr. High) where I taught 7-8th grade math for 23 years and then was Dean of Students (discpline) for the last 5.
In 2007 my husband and I sold the business that we had owned for 20 years so we could enjoy our retirement.
I now spend my summers at home with my husband and our children and granddaughters.  In the winter we hitch up the 5th wheel RV and head to the warmer climates.  I have now become the snowbird that I once made fun of.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.
